From our inspection

What we found

An inspection of the property was completed on 22 September 2026 at no charge. Bait remains in the internal rodent stations and there is only limited sign of activity, indicating no active internal rodent issue. Externally, however, every baiting station inspected was effectively empty of bait, which indicates very high rodent pressure around the property. While bait consumption does not identify the species or number of rodents present, it provides a clear basis for monitoring and managing pressure around the buildings.

Findings are documented in full after every visit, so the centre always holds an accurate record.

A full inspection of the property was carried out at no charge prior to preparing this proposal. Activity within the building is minimal; the external perimeter stations, however, show substantial bait consumption — high external pressure, which this programme is designed to manage.

Context

Three everyday pressures

These are common around Auckland properties and are readily managed with regular, professional attention.

Rodents

Rodent activity is common across Auckland. Regular inspection and rebaiting maintain control at the perimeter; the internal stations currently show no bait consumption.

Outdoor cockroaches

Outdoor cockroaches can occasionally enter buildings. A sighting near a play or dining area is a concern for children, staff and parents, even in the absence of an indoor infestation. Correct identification and targeted treatment keep this risk well managed.

Ants

Ants are persistent and adaptable, and are readily drawn to food, water and small entry points in kitchens and eating areas. Their foraging routes change with the seasons, making regular inspection and timely treatment important.

The programme

Four scheduled visits across the year

    Inspect existing internal and external rodent stations; record activity and bait consumption; rebait suitable existing stations using an appropriately selected product.

  2. 02

    Check that stations are secure and appropriately positioned, especially around child-access areas.

  3. 03

    Inspect ants and cockroaches and provide suitable targeted treatment during a scheduled visit when warranted.

  4. 04

    Include seasonal fly inspection and suitable targeted response, with particular attention to summer, entry points, waste areas and food areas.

  5. 05

    Coordinate work with centre management around children and food preparation. Follow product directions and applicable access instructions.

  6. 06

    Provide a written report after every visit recording findings, station activity, work completed, products used where applicable, and practical recommendations.

This programme supports the centre's own food-safety and hazard-management procedures. While no programme can guarantee a pest-free property, it provides consistent attention, accurate reporting and timely response.
